Once full, a professional driver will pick up your recyclables in the box and dispatch them to the location where they are recycled. Ballasts produced after 1978 are considered to be PCB free; however, some rare ballasts produced after 1978 can contain DEHP. These are called “wet ballasts” and need to be managed properly. DEHP is an odorless, clear liquid, which can cause environmental and health problems if not recycled properly. DEHP and “wet ballasts” have to be recycled by an approved facility.
We are also a member of the Recycling Council of Ontario (RCO) and can issue certificates of recycling. If you are a building manager these certificates of recycling can help your building get recognized or continue to maintain your ranking with associations like LEED and BOMA BEST.
